Expectations

Expectations:

  1. COME PREPARED TO LEARN
  • Bring at least 2 functioning writing utensils
  • Bring your IAN
  • Be in your seat working on your do now BEFORE the bell rings
  1. DO NOT BE AUDITORILY DISTRACTING DURING INSTRUCTION
  • Do not talk during instruction
  • Do not make noise during instruction.
  1. DO NOT BE VISUALLY DISTRACTING DURING INSTRUCTION
  • Stay in your seat during instruction.
  • Do not throw anything, including paper.
  • Do not touch anyone.
  • Do not make motions which would draw someone’s attention away from the lesson.
  1. BE RESPECTFUL AND CORRECTABLE
  • When behavior is corrected, immediately respond with assent (e.g. yes, ma’am) and refocus on the lesson.
  • Do not call the teacher “girl,” smack your lips, or roll your eyes.
  • Use the proper grievance procedure. Do not air grievances during instruction time.
  1. PARTICIPATE DURING INSTRUCTION
  • Keep your head up.
  • Take notes.
  • Raise your hand to ask questions or to volunteer answers.
  1. STAY ON TASK DURING CLASS WORK OR COOPERATIVE LEARNING
  • Do not talk about anything with your classmates other than the assignment before you.
  • Do not play
  • Ask questions of your classmates and teacher when stuck.
  • Wait patiently for help without talking or playing.
  • Complete at least 75% of the class work expected of you by the end of the class (100% by the next morning)
  1. Check http://MsHurleyMath.com after school OR come to tutoring from 2:30-3.
  • Complete any class work or notes not completed in class.
  • Complete and submit your homework.
  • Seek help when you do not understand.
  1. TAKE CARE OF ALL YOUR ALGEBRA 1 BUSINESS DAILY NO MATTER WHETHER YOU ARE PRESENT IN CLASS.
  • Check the website and complete and submit homework, and complete all notes and class work.
  • If you miss on Wednesday, immediately schedule a time to make up the quiz within two days.
  • Bring your note to the counseling center to be processed, then have the teacher sign it at 2:30.
